We're pleased to announce that the Kittyhawk project source code has been open-sourced and released to the BlueGene Open Source Community repositories hosted by Argonne National Labs.
There is a preliminary community web-site with more information and mailing list at http://kittyhawk.bu.edu
The released kittyhawk source code (available via http://git.anl-external.org/kittyhawk) includes:
kh-uboot: modifications to u-boot to allow it to be run as a boot kernel on BG/P
linux-kh: a compute-node Linux kernel for BG/P including an ethernet device which uses the tree and torus for underlying communication as well as exposes a tightly-coupled interface for applications
scripts: administrative and boot scripts
l4ka-pistachio: (patch-only right now) a port of the L4 microkernel to Blue Gene/Kittyhawk
khvmm: a virtual machine monitor for L4/Kittyhawk
The source code for each package is released under the license of its parent
community (ie. GPLv2 for Linux, etc.)
Please direct any questions to the kittyhawk mailing list (kittyhawk at cs.bu.edu)
Many thanks to Robert Wisniewski, Dilma Da Silva, and the whole Kittyhawk team of IBM Research for their help in getting the code approved for open-source.
