The iGEM contest is at the forefront of computing/programming at the level of cells.  The organizer of the BU team, Professor Douglas Densmore http://people.bu.edu/dougd/  will hold an informational meeting on Wednesday, 23 Feb, at 5-6pm in SMG 304.

Ever thought of making a red blood cell substitute in E.Coli? Want to design a custom DNA sequence from your computer and have it ready before you finish your morning coffee? Do you want to learn a ton about making new synthetic biological systems and have a blast doing it? Well then you should consider joining the 2011 International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) Competition team here at BU. This is an interdisciplinary team composed of computer scientists, electrical engineers and bio-engineers focused on making software tools for creating novel biological systems.
