Hi Professor Crovella,
I hope you are doing well. I am emailing you to ask if you could you please forward the email below my signature to anyone you think would be interested in a being a part of sheHacks, the first women-centric hackathon at Boston University?
Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.

To Whomever it May Concern,
My name is Fiona, and I am a member of Girls Who Code at Boston University. Our university is an institution that promotes inclusiveness in STEM, and the university's first Girls Who Code Club has taken it upon themselves to bring computer science education to high schools in the Boston Metro Area, as well as to the women studying computer science at Boston University.
On October 21st-22nd, we are hosting sheHacks, the first women-centric hackathon at Boston University, organized by Girls Who Code BU and the Howard Therman Center. We want to create a space in which women can explore tech culture and be empowered to create with code, and we invite everyone to help us achieve that.
For 15 hours, students come together and get involved in learning, planning, and developing projects–ranging from web applications to VR hacks–with the ultimate goal of fostering growth and productivity among women who want to code.
This event is an exciting opportunity for students and professionals from the tech industry to come together and share ideas on how to create powerful community of female software engineers. We are excited to invite you to participate in making our event successful.
There are four main ways for you to get involved with our hackathon:
1. Instructor- Leading a workshop is an amazing opportunity to network with current undergraduates working towards computer science and technical degrees. Instructor’s should have a background in one of the following categories: web development, app development (iOS or Android), UX/UI Design, VR/AR, and Game Design.

2. Genius bar- Staffing the genius bar is another amazing opportunity to network with current undergraduates working towards computer science and technical degrees if you aren’t available on Saturday to be an Instructor.

3. Mentor- Mentor’s have the ability to inspire, teach, and lead students to success in a way that will create lasting professional bonds at sheHacks. Mentors will be assigned a student team and work with that team throughout the entire event. Mentors will act as an additional team member.

4. Sponsorship- We are also looking for both monetary donations to aid logistics and item donations to use as prizes and activities throughout the event. If you would like to support our hackathon, we would love to discuss the best way for you guys to get involved.
