An Introduction to OpenNebula
OpenNebula is a production-ready open-source platform for building and managing on-premise IaaS clouds. In 2008, OpenNebula was the first open-source cloud management platform, and now it operates as a user-driven open-source project. The talk explores the anatomy of the cloud, the architectures for cloud federation, and the OpenNebula features to build dynamic and scalable private, hybrid and federated cloud environments. Hundreds of organizations rely on OpenNebula to run their businesses or support their scientific research. The talk illustrates how OpenNebula is being used in some of these compute- and data-intensive environments to build multi-site, hybrid and federated clouds, and gives examples of innovation projects integrating OpenNebula with Software Defined Networks (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) techniques to enable federated cloud networking.
