Dear Faculty – happy start of the semester!
Please take a moment to read the message below from the Dean’s Office about indicating whether or not your course will have a final exam. You will need to log into the faculty link, indicate “yes” or “no” for your courses, and do this no later than September 26th. If you have any questions just let me know.
This may seem small but it is critical for scheduling purposes, for both the Registrar’s Office and the students. So please make sure you log in and indicate “yes” or “no” for whether your class will have a final exam – especially if the answer is “no”
Instructions are in the message below.

Subject: Final Exam and CC50
Good morning, everyone.
Some of you receive Liza Burke’s recent email about Final Exams and CC50 and some of you didn’t, so please allow me share that information here.
In short, and to best manage limited resources across campus, it is important for the University Registrar to know which classes do and do not intend to offer a final exam. Now is the time to indicate whether or not your faculty members will offer a final exam for their Fall 2016 courses. If a choice is not made then the system will default to Yes, and schedule a Final Exam.
Faculty need to use the Faculty Link. Once in the Faculty Link, they would look under the heading “Instructor’s Tools,” and select “Class List.” On the following page, they would select the desired class, click “list,” then select “Final Exam” (located at the end of the header bar). For each class taught, instructors will be required to indicate whether or not they intend to give a final exam with a Yes or a No.
This needs to be done by September 26th.
Additional information about the University’s Final Exam Policy is available here: http://www.bu.edu/reg/calendars/final-exams/
Thank you for your time and attention, and may your week wind to a positive close,
