Hello Christopher,

I wanted to pass along some information that I think will be of interest to students and researchers in the Computer Science Department. If you could pass this along it would be greatly appreciated.

BU Study Group Events

The BU Study Group, a group of researchers, students, and staff interested in coding, open science, and reproducible research, will be holding events throughout the semester. Our first two events are:

+ Sept. 15 from 6:00 - 7:30 - Hacky Hour (aka meet and greet) in BRB 117 (Biology Research Building)<http://www.bu.edu/maps/index.php?id=716>. Some food and beverages will be provided
+ Sept. 21 from 6:00 - 7:30 - Open Science Technologies Lightning Talks - Estin Room (3rd floor - Mugar Library). Topics will be Version Control, Jupyter Notebooks, Pandoc, and the Command Line.

Data Services Webinars

The Library is hosting webinars on data management this fall. The first four webinars are:

+ Sept. 22 - Citing Data (register<https://goo.gl/forms/oLD6SFk7ZJ1yasaj2>)

+ Oct. 6 - Minting a DOI for your data with Zenodo (register<https://goo.gl/forms/YBcBpVXuvOQlJMXm1>)

All of the webinars will be at noon and last about 20-25 minutes.
