Announcement: Workshop on Cryptography for Big Data at Columbia
===================================================

Dear Colleagues,

We are organizing a Workshop on Cryptography for Big Data at Columbia
University on Dec 14 and 15 (Mon/Tues). The goal of the workshop is to
facilitate a conversation between cryptographers and "Big Data folks"
on what crypto can do for Big Data.

The workshop is affiliated with DIMACS and with the new, NSF-funded
Northeast Big Data Innovation Hub. The workshop is co-located with the
Hub's kickoff meeting, which will happen at Columbia on Wednesday,
December 16.

We are aiming for a highly interactive workshop and feel that your
participation and research perspective will greatly contribute to the
constructive exchange of ideas. We are particularly interested in
presentations by researchers in “Big Data” who can tell us about the
privacy/security problem they encounter in their work, and what type
of solutions (if any) they are using or would like to see for those
problems.

We would really appreciate it if you could indicate your interest in
the workshop via this short form by Oct 20 (Tues):

The workshop is the first in a series of workshops that are part of
the DIMACS/Simons Collaboration in Cryptography. The detailed workshop
announcement is at:

Please feel free to contact us if you have more questions. Looking
forward to hearing from you!

Best,
