Subject: Debian call for GSoC/Outreachy Interns
To: Valerie Young <spectranaut at gmail.com>

The Debian Project is participating in the upcoming rounds of Google Summer
of Code and Outreachy! These two internship programs foster people
interested in becoming (more) involved in free and open source software.

Internships run May 25-August 25th and come with a $5500 stipend (paid in
three installments). Participants will be able to spend the whole summer
working on Debian--an all volunteer run free software operating system.

Our amazing team of mentors has listed their project ideas on the Debian
wiki <https://wiki.debian.org/SummerOfCode2015/Projects>, and we are now
welcoming applicants for both programs.

You can read more about the call for applications on Bits from Debian

If you want to apply for an internship with Debian this summer, please fill
out the template for either Outreachy
<https://wiki.debian.org/Outreachy/Round10/Applications> or GSoC
<https://wiki.debian.org/SummerOfCode2015/StudentApplications>. If you’re
eligible to both programs, we’ll encourage you to apply to both (using the
same application), as Debian only has funds for a single Outreachy intern
this round.

Outreachy applications are due March 24th, and GSoC ones March 27th.

If you have any questions, drop us a line on the soc-coordination mailing
list <soc-coordination at lists.alioth.debian.org> or come by on our IRC
channel (#debian-soc onirc.debian.org) and we’ll do our best to guide you.
